Patricia A. Mackin, MD

Dr. Mackin is a board certified family physician. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame. From there she attended and graduated from medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. She then moved to the great state of Texas to complete her family medicine residency training with the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program.

She is passionate about practicing family medicine.  Her practice is built upon the concept of caring for the whole person and the whole family. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from birth though adulthood. Being a family doctor means taking care of the patient, not just the disease. Dr. Mackin chose to be a family doctor because she wanted to 

connect with patients, providing them with a variety of services throughout their lifetime. She believes in the value of preventative care including physicals and immunizations, as well as care for those with acute illnesses and chronic diseases.

Dr. Mackin has a variety of interests within medicine and outside of medicine. She has taken a particular interest in the field of breastfeeding medicine. She has provided individual counseling to breastfeeding mothers and has written a book for patients on the topic of breastfeeding. In her free time, Dr. Mackin enjoys painting, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
